Christie Digital: 3D Projection Mapping at Gyeongju World Culture Expo, Korea

“Eight Christie CP2230 digital cinema projectors brought a stunning 3D projection mapping display to life at the Gyeongju World Culture Expo, with the Gyeongju Tower facade as the centerpiece of the show. Stunning 3D images of optical art unfurled and mutated into colorful bursts of varying shapes and sizes, transforming these images into a fascinating cinematic experience for the audience.

The multimedia show, “Moon-lit Night of Silla,” tells the story of an imaginary Queen Seondeok’s fight to protect Silla against the evil King Baengnyong, or White Dragon, and culminates in a grand finale that has the Gyeongju Tower vanish. Made possible through the application of 3D optical effects, it is the first time this visual technique was used in Korea.”
