Australian artist Justene Williams seminal work inside the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) is reinterpreted by the artist on the external front façade of one of Sydney’s most dramatic buildings as a riot of colour and geometric collages.
A set of animations creatively directed by Richard Lindsey dance between these remarkable collages bringing onto relief the architecture of the MCA façade, making it a vibrant centre of Vivid Sydney.

Renowned Sydney artist, Justene Williams, studied in Sydney and Vienna and was named in Sydney Magazine’s Top 100 Most Influential People 2011 Sydney.
Justene’s artworks are part of the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia collection. The collection is a vital part of the MCA’s support for Australian artists.
Richard, Caterina and Johnny are a part of the Spinifex Group.
Richard is a leading creative director in experience media and has been a leading influence on such highly acclaimed productions as the ceremonies for 2010 Shanghai World Expo, the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games and the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Caterina is an international award winning creative director for live events, television commercials and campaigns for leading Australian and global brands.
Jonny brings 16 years of design industry experience to this project. His work has been seen across some of the world’s most noted brands and events including FIFA World Congress 2008, Doha Asian Games Opening ceremony 2006 and the Pan American Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
Spinifex Group (based in Sydney) is a new type of communications company using the latest technologies creatively to tell the stories in ways that audiences haven’t even imagined yet.
The projection is delivered through specialist video technology from the Technical Direction Company.”
